1.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you use 1stLumi, you may provide us with:
- Baby and pet profile information (name, birthday, gender, blood type, photos, weight, height)
- Diary entries, health records, and feeding/sleep logs
- Support requests, feedback, or messages sent to us via email or contact forms
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
We may collect certain technical information automatically, including:
- Device type, operating system version, and app version
- Crash reports and diagnostic data (to help fix bugs)
- In-app purchase history (processed by Apple, not directly by us)
- AI chat usage quota counts (stored locally on your device)
1.3 Photos and Camera Access
1stLumi may request access to your device's photo library and camera to let you upload profile photos and diary images. This data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless explicitly shared by you.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and improve the core features of 1stLumi
- Process in-app purchases and manage subscriptions via Apple's payment system
- Power the AI chat assistant with contextual information about your baby/pet (sent securely to our AI provider)
- Respond to your support requests
- Send important service announcements (no marketing spam)
- Analyze crash reports and fix bugs
3. Data Storage and Security
Local Storage First: The majority of your data (profiles, diaries, health records, photos, weight logs) is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data does not leave your device unless you explicitly export or share it.
3.1 AI Features and Third-Party Data Sharing
When you use AI features, this app sends the following data to a third-party AI service (OpenRouter / OpenAI, relayed via our proxy at 1stlumi.vercel.app):
- The text you type
- Any photos or video frames you attach
- Your baby/pet profile (name, species/type, gender, age)
- Growth metrics (height, weight, BMI)
- Health records
- Recent diary notes
This data is transmitted only when you actively use an AI feature, solely to generate a response, and is not used to train models. These third parties provide protections equal to or greater than those described in this policy. Data is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection and is not permanently stored on our servers beyond what is necessary to fulfill the request.
Security: We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. However, no method of transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
4. Third-Party Services
1stLumi integrates with the following third-party services:
- Apple App Store / StoreKit: Handles all payment processing. We do not store your credit card information. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- OpenRouter / OpenAI (relayed via our proxy at 1stlumi.vercel.app): Powers the AI assistant. The data described in Section 3.1 is sent to these providers only when you actively use an AI feature, solely to generate a response, and is not used to train models. - WidgetKit / App Intents: Apple framework for home screen widgets. No data is shared externally.
5. Children's Privacy
1stLumi is designed for use by parents and caregivers to track information about their children and pets. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. All data entered about babies is entered by the parent or guardian.

6. Data Retention and Deletion
Since most data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by:
- Deleting individual profiles, diary entries, or health records within the app
- Uninstalling the app (which removes all local data)
- Clearing app data via device settings
For data associated with AI queries, please refer to the data retention policies of OpenRouter and OpenAI.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data
- Portability: Request export of your data in a readable format
- Opt-out: Opt out of any future marketing communications

If you use the AI features, your data may be processed on servers outside your country of residence. We ensure such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
